After discovering that my stack of intel-based 2U servers will not run VMWare, I’m going to revert to running VirtualBox on them. Either on a WindowsXP or Ubuntu host. Either way I want to be able to:
Create a template VM with just WindowsXP on it
Create a template VM with WindowsXP and XAMPP on it
Start a specific VM on host OS boot
Automate backups
Transfer a VM to another machine (ie. bring a VM live on a second machine after the first one fails)
